Eligibility for getting admission to the Chemical Engineering Course:

At the UG level, some colleges offer chemical engineering as B. Tech course and some offer it as B.E course. For getting admission to this course, candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination with mathematics, physics and chemistry subjects. Even candidates with a diploma in chemical engineering, can get lateral entry to the second year of the B.E/B. Tech chemical engineering course.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to the B.E/B. Tech chemical engineering course is done based on the marks secured by the candidates in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination or on the basis of the state-level engineering entrance examination depending on the state in which a candidate is seeking admission.

Higher studies after B.E/B. Tech Chemical Engineering:

On successful completion of the B.E/B. Tech Chemical Engineering course, candidates can take up M.E/M. Tech in chemical engineering. After which they can also do their Ph. D in Chemical Engineering.

Career Prospects after completion of B.E/B. Tech Chemical Engineering:

Chemical Engineering graduates can find job placements in manufacturing industries, which denotes not only chemical manufacturing units, but also in companies engaged in manufacturing of other products like paper, clothing, food, electronics and energy. They can also find job opportunities in other sectors like biotechnology and health care since these industries deal with medicines that are produced with the help of chemical engineers. They can also specialize themselves in specific job areas like nanomaterials, polymerization or oxidation to find better job opportunities.
