Otorhinolaryngology or simply otolaryngology is a specialized branch of medical practice that deals with the conditions affecting face, neck, head, sinuses, throat, nose and ears. Candidates specializing in this field are called as Ear-Nose-Throat Specialist or ENT Specialist.
Normally, the term otolaryngology is used in greater frequency as compared to the term Otorhinolaryngology even though the latter is slightly more accurate since the term rhino refers to the study and treatment of disorders in the sinuses and the nose. Basic Eligibility requirement:
The basic eligibility requirement for seeking admission to the Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology course, which extends to a period of two years is that candidates must have completed their MBBS from an institution approved by the Medical Council of India. Also, they must have completed their compulsory internship as well.
Admission Procedure:
Normally, admission of students to this PG diploma course is done based on their performance in the PG medical entrance examination, which might either be state level or national level entrance examination.
