Baran District is located in the state of Rajasthan in the western part of the country and the district has the town of Baran as its headquarters. The district is spread over an area of 6955.4 Km2 and the district is bounded by the state of Madhya Pradesh in the northern and eastern sides.

On the southwest and south side, it is bounded by the Jhalawar District of the state of Rajasthan and in the western and north western side by the Kota District of the state. The districts has eight tehsils namely Shahabad, Mangrol, Kishanganj, Chhipa Barod, Chhabra, Baran, Atru and Antu. When it comes to education in this district there are 715 primary schools, 517 upper primary schools, three colleges and five ITIs. Arts, Science & Commerce College:

Government College, Baran is a co-education college and the college came into existence in the year 1966. The college offers arts, science and commerce courses under the affiliation of the Kota University and it is funded by the government of Rajasthan. The college was established to offer higher education to young men and women in the backward region of Baran that is located in the south-eastern part of the state. The college has earned C+ certificate from the National Assessment and Accreditation council and the college offers the following courses in different subjects:

Bachelor of Science

Master of Arts

Master of Science

Arts College:

Government Girls College as the name implies is meant for offering higher education to women students from rural areas. The college came into existence in the year 1995 and the college offers UG course in subjects like English literature, political sciences, Sanskrit, Hindi and home science and PG courses are also offered in these subjects. The institution has earned recognition from the University Grants Commission in the year 2002 under section 2 (f) and 12 (b).  The college admits women students to the UG arts course based on the marks secured by them in the higher secondary course from a recognized institution. For PG arts courses, admission is done based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Bachelor of Arts Course that has been completed either from the Kota University or from any other Indian university approved by law.

Even though, the number of institutions for higher education is higher in the district of Baran, there are a number of institutions offering education at the school level and collegiate education is offered in many colleges functioning in the nearby districts of the state of Rajasthan. Of the three colleges functioning in the district of Baran, two colleges are government-run colleges and one college is running under private control. All these three college are known for the best quality education offered both in English and in Rajasthani medium.

    Which universities providing M.Sc Geology, M.sc Marine Geology? How could i get admission in Post Graduation after completion of Graduation (B.Sc Geology)? What is the Fees? also hostel facility?
