Faridkot is a small city in the municipal council of Faridkot district and it is located in the state of Punjab in India. Faridkot District was previously acting as a part of Ferozepur District and later in the year 1996, it was established as a division with divisional headquarters at Faridkot, which includes Mansa, Bathinda and Faridkot districts.

Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot came into existence in the year 1973 and the college actually acts as a constituent unit of the Baba  Farid University of Health Sciences. The sanctioned intake capacity of the college for the MBBS course according to the approval of the Medical Council of India is 50 students per year. For PG courses like MD in Psychiatry, MD in Skin & VD and MS in Ophthalmology, it is two students per year per course, while for MS in General Surgery course, the intake capacity is three students per year.

Arts, Science & Commerce Colleges:

Government Brijindra College is a co-education institution that came into existence in the year 1942 and the college is offering education with affiliation from the Punjabi University located in Patiala. The college offers three-year degree course in Arts, Science and Commerce subjects, four-year degree course in Agriculture and Master of Arts in Punjabi and Economics.
