The district is the home for Master Control Facility of Indian National Satellite System of Indian Space Research Organization. Medical College:

Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, Hassan is shortly called as HIMS and this college came into existence in the year 2006. Medical Council of India and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science has approved the institution to admit 100 students per year for the MBBS course offered. The duration of MBBS course offered by the college is four-and-half years and admission of students to this course is done based on the marks secured by the students in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Even some students are admitted based on the All India level medical entrance examination.

Law Colleges:

The three government-run law college operating in the district of Hassan offer three-year LLB course and five-year integrated B.A LLB course with affiliation form the Karnataka State Law University.

Arts College:

Govt. Arts College, Hassan came into being from the academic year 1987-85 and it offers arts education with affiliation from the Mysore University.
