Government Engineering College, Jabalpur
The Government Engineering College was set up in the year 1947 in the state of Madhya Pradesh in Jabalpur, Ranjhi, Gokalpur. It is also popularly known as Jabalpur Engineering College. The college has the affiliation of Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal and has the approval of AICTE.
Courses Offered
The college offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various disciplines. Among the postgraduate courses there are M. Tech and MCA. The engineering bachelors include streams as: Computer Science & Engineering; Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering; Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial production and Engineering. The post graduate degrees are there to be offered in the disciplines like Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecom Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics. The institute also offers masters in computer application.
Admission
For the entrance into the bachelors level courses one has to qualify the entrance examination the AIEEE conducted by the state. An aspirant must qualify the GATE to get admitted to the masters course.
Infrastructure
The college expands over a vast land area covering lots of acres of land. There is greenery all around and beautiful advanced buildings. The library is well maintained and stocked. The library is there to assist both the faculty and the students. The laboratories are all well kept with modern apparatuses.
Placement
A number of renowned multinational companies visit the campus and recruit the students. There are numerous seminars along with one on one session interview arranged by the placement cell of the college. The college has developed good relations with various companies such as CTS, WIPRO, IBM and Infosys.
