Recruitment to the post of Graduate Engineer in National Thermal Power Corporation in 2012 is conducted on the basis of GATE 2012 scores. Candidates who have completed engineering degree with a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for this post. Upper age limit for application is 27 years. Final selection is made on the basis of scores obtained in group discussion and personal interview. Candidates who are appointed as graduate engineer can earn up to Rs. 25650/- per month along with other allowances.

Eligibility Criterion for Graduate Engineer in NTPC Limited

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology in respective subjects from a recognized University is the minimum qualification required. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate in qualifying exam. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST category require 55% marks in qualifying exam to be eligible. Age Restrictions

Candidates who are more than 27 years of age as on 01.01.2012 are not eligible to apply for this post. Those who are belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Class and Person with Disability can seek relaxations in terms of upper age as per the guidelines issued by the Government of India.

Selection Procedure

Recruitment to the post of Graduate Engineer in NTPC is done on the basis of scores obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2012. Eligible candidates will be short listed as per their rankings in GATE score card for Group Discussion. Final selection will be on the basis of scores obtained in group discussion as well as in personal interview conducted by NTPC.

Salary Packages

Those who are appointed as Graduate Engineer in National Thermal Power Corporation can earn up to Rs. 24900/- as starting salary during training period. Those who have completed training will be paid Rs. 25650/- per month + other allowances. Experienced professionals can earn up to Rs. 50500/-.
