Paper Pattern:

This paper is a theoretical paper and questions asked are of short answer type and long answer type. Total no. of questions is 7 and students have to attempt only 5 from it. The questions are further divided into two or three sub-questions which may carry equal or different marks. Each main question is of equal marks and carries 16 marks. The paper demands a good knowledge in the diagram and should be drawn wherever necessary. Assumption should be made in a question if necessary.

Questions in the paper are of subjective type and required a good knowledge in the paper. The paper contains questions such as definitions of Pharmacognosy, Crude drugs, Pharmaceutical aids, Alkaloids, classification of crude drugs and its justification, morphology of leaf, modification,differences between dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous stem, cultivation and its advantages, mutation and induced mutation, substitution, palisade ratio, functions of stomata, Definitions of acid value, chemomicroscopy etc.

Total marks and time allotted:

Maximum marks in the paper are 80 and time allotted is 3 hours only. Questions in the paper are of 16 marks each and each question is divided into 2-3 sub-questions. Generally each sub-question carries 4 marks, 5 marks and 6 marks. Sometimes 8 marks, 10 marks and 12 marks questions are also there.
