Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust University is one of the major academic institutes in the field of medical education. Every academic year the HIHT University carries out national level entrance examination for the Post Graduate aspirants of different Medical programs. The candidates can choose among the MS, MD and PG Diploma program in various specialized fields according to their preference. The qualified candidates of HIHT PGMEE will get the opportunity to pursue the PG program in the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences Dehradun, the top most medical institute in Uttaranchal.

Structure and Syllabus for HIHT PGMEE

The entrance exam of HIHT PGMEE follows the objective pattern with multiple choices. The question paper is of three hours duration with 250 questions. The syllabus of the examination follows the MBBS curriculum and the major areas are,

  • Anatomy: 10 questions
  • Biochemistry: 10 questions
  • ENT: 10 questions
  • Forensic Medicine: 10 questions
  • Medicine & allied: 50 questions
  • Microbiology: 10 questions
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology: 30 questions
  • Ophthalmology: 10 questions
  • Paediatrics: 10 questions
  • Pathology: 15 questions
  • Pharmacology: 10 questions
  • Physiology: 10 questions
  • Social and Preventive Medicine: 15 questions
  • Surgery & allied: 50 questions

Four marks are given for the right answers and one mark will be taken from the total for the incorrect response.

Eligibility Criteria

The basic requirement for taking the examination is the MBBS degree from a national or international institute recognized by the Medical Council of India. The candidate who complete their obligatory rotating internship or who will compete before the admission period is eligible for appearing the examination.

How to Apply?

The application form is available by post by sending the request for the application form to the admission centre of HIHT University. It is also uploaded in the website of the university and the aspirant can get the form from there also. The candidates should make sure that the form along with the DD of the examination is send to the PGMEE contact address. The attached DD should be signed by the candidates at the back side.

How to fill the Form?

The instruction for filling the application form is available in the brochure and the candidates should follow the instruction without any mistakes. The handwriting should be clear and legible to any person. If you make any mistake in the form your application won’t be considered for the selection process. You have to enter the correct information in every necessary column and affix the photo and put your signature on the suggested place. Attach the checklist content along with the form and make sure that you put the signature on the back side of the DD.

Last date to submit complete application form: December End, 2012

Date of exam: January 4th week, 2012

Study Plan

A study plan is the important concept behind the success in every competitive examination. The PG medical aspirants should approach the exam with a systematic preparation. An important point regarding the examination is that the questions are application based and the candidates should be thorugh with the MBBS curriculum. Most of the questions may seem to be confusing for the aspirants and only the well prepared students can meet the examination benchmark. Referring the text books and the class notes are the effective way of preparing for the exam.

The coaching centers will provide the model papers and mock test which will prove a great help while taking the exam. The time should be managed effectively so as to score maximum in the exam. Do not try to answer a question which seems to be confusing. The recommended books for various medical PG examinations are useful study materials for the applicants.

Cutoff

The students should score a minimum marks so as to be considered for the further admission process. Normally the minimum mark required is 50% of the total marks of the examination i.e, minimum 500 marks.

How and Where To Get the Results?

The candidates can get the result of PGMEE of the HIHT University in the official portal of the University. The candidates need to visit the site on the date of the announcement of results and can get the soft copy of their score card from the official website. The site directs the qualified candaites for the further admission requirements. Individual score card would not be send by the university to any student.

Score Validity

The validity of HIHT PGMEE is one year.
