Nursing training is training in theory and practical practice. Specialists nurses work in hospitals which render specialist medical services. Qualified nurses may opt for other work arrangements, example private duty nurses work as resident nurses for private patients, in nursing homes, daycare centers, public health agencies or in hospitals. The entry points are of many kinds:


After Class X:

• 18 month auxiliary nurse midwife/multi-purpose health worker courses.

After Class XII/ or work experience:

• 3 year diploma in general nursing, preferably in science.
• 4 year B.Sc nursing required pass in class XII with PCB.
• After general nursing/ midwife training 2 years B.Sc nursing post basic/certificate is for those who have completed XII or equivalent in science with work experience of 3-5 years after general nursing/ midwife training.
• Post graduate training/education is of 2 years master’s degree, M.Phil and Ph.D courses.
