How to Prepare for I.A.F. Airman (Technical Trades) Exam?

IAF is the government-recognized test.  It conducts for admission into Defense services. This invites every male candidate for Airman in Technical and Non Technical trades.  IAF provides the program twice in a year.  The program begins from January to June and July to December. Central Airmen Selection conducts the exam.

Only unmarried males are eligible for the exam. The candidate should be an Indian. The age must be between 16 to 21 years in the year of examination. In addition, the candidate should have finished the higher secondary exam with the subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics. Minimum 50% mark needed in these subjects. Those who finished 3-year diploma course are also qualified for the exam. Last year higher, secondary students who are waiting for the results can also apply.

Structure of the I.A.F. Airman (Technical Trades) Exam

The entrance test includes objective kind of questions from different subjects such as Intelligent and General Awareness, English and Mathematics.

Syllabus of the I.A.F. Airman (Technical Trades) Exam

The mathematics section includes areas like

  • Complex Numbers
  • Algebra
  • Time and Distance
  • Areas and Volumes
  • Probability
  • Percentage
  • Numbers
  • Pipes And Cisterns, etc.

The English section includes the topics such as

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Synonyms
  • Antonyms
  • Prepositions
  • Idioms and Phrases
  • Articles
  • Grammar And Its Usage
  • Essay Writing, Etc.

The general awareness and intelligence encompasses of everyday activities, scientific aspects, History of India, current affairs in India and around the world, general science, economic status of the country, etc.

Study Plan for I.A.F. Airman (Technical Trades) Exam

The candidate should assign time for every part and learn these sections everyday. Reading English Newspapers, magazines, novels and storybooks help the aspirants to progress their communication skills. They should remember many vocabularies. Therefore, they can watch some English movies that help to progress their general knowledge. They can watch TV news, online news to know about current affairs in the world.

Before attending the test, every aspirant must exercise every mathematical problem. For that, they can learn the significant points and formulas. For attending the exam, Time management is an important thing. Practicing sample and last year, question papers are helpful for improvisation. This will give better idea about the examination. They candidates have to exercise several mock examinations before test. This will help to know their preparation level.
