This exam is conducted for selecting the women candidates for pilot training. The exam is conducted by Indian Air Force.  Indian Air force is one of the respected defense wings of our nation. This organization not only provides training practices but also helps in maintaining a stable career to different female candidates.

Structure of the exam

Selection for IAF Women Pilot Training is actually a multi stage procedure.

First the candidates are required to write the written test. The test contains 100 questions; the total time allotted for the paper is two hours. All questions will be of three marks each. There is negative marking for every wrong answer.

Questions will be from the topics:

  • General awareness
  • Verbal ability in English
  • Numerical ability
  • Reasoning and military aptitude test

The qualified candidates now eligible for Pilot Aptitude Battery Test, then they will taken for Personality Tests, group tests and interview and last there will be a medical test after this the list will be prepared on the merit basis.

Eligibility Criteria

The female applicants with the ages of 19-23 only can apply. The applicants with 25 yrs can also apply only if they have commercial Pilot License. Applicant should have taken Physics and Maths at 10+2 level. The applicant should be a graduate. Applicants also should have a fair English vocabulary, also excellent eye sight. At the time of training the applicant should have a sound mind; they should be free from any kind of mental and physical trauma.

Physical requirements needed are:

  • Minimum height should be 162.5 cms.
  • Leg Length should be between 99-120 cms.

Also the applicants should not have any eye problems like color / night blindness and they should not be wearing glasses.

How to Apply?

Applicants are able to download the application form from the website: www.careerairforce.nic.in also the applicants can send a handwritten/typed form on an A4 size paper in the format given in the website. Applicants should keep two passport sized photos and two self addressed envelopes with form. The applicants should have to attach necessary certificates as mentioned in the brochure. Interested applicants should fill the form and send to the given address before the closing date.

How to fill the Form?

The applicants should fill the form very carefully. If there is any error in the filled form, that candidate will be eliminated. The brochure will help in filling each column. Candidates should be thorough with the general news. They should be well aware about the current affairs, reading news paper, watching news on T.V will help for maintaining general awareness. Everyone should read books, journals, magazines etc. so that the one will be getting general awareness as well as, it helps in verbal ability. Should practice on numerical ability, many solved question papers will be available on internet, interested ones can download and practice problems or many books are available in the shops, buy some and keep doing numerical problems which helps in doing problems fast.

The results will be uploaded in the website: www.careerairforce.nic.in. The result dates also will be published in the same site. So visit the site regularly.

Score Validity

The score will be valid till the next IAF exam.

    i want to ask that students holding a ppl (private pilot license) are eligible or not for women pilot entry??

    And also i want to ask that i have done my graduation B.A with 56.08% marks, am i eligible for applying for the IAF women pilot entry course? And if i do my post graduation before applying for IAF women pilot entry, then wil i be eligible for the same? Then which marks will be counted graduation or post graduation? Please answer my querries.
