Situated in the Electronic Complex, Salt lake in Kolkata in Sector V in the state of West Bengal the Institute of Engineering & Management was set up in the year 1994. it has the approval of the AICTE Eastern Region and is associated to the West Bengal University of Technology(WBUT). It is regarded as the best Private Engineering college of West Bengal.
Courses offered
This institute offers bachelor degree course in Engineering (B. Tech) which is a 4 year program in the following disciplines, viz., Electronics & Communication Engineering with a capacity of 90, Information Technology with an intake of 60 and Computer science & Engineering with total 60 seats. The college also provides a masters course in technology (M. Tech) in Electronics & Communication. Also a full time MBA degree course is offered whose duration is 3 years.
Admission
To get admitted into the college one must qualify the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or few seats are also reserved for AIEEE successful candidates. The selection for the MBA course is done on the basis of the CAT score of an individual whose minimum qualification should be at least a bachelor degree in Science or Commerce or Engineering.
Infrastructure
The Institute of Engineering & Management’s campus covers a good amount of area. The college has got well furnished libraries with the provision of modern facilities like International journals, CD-ROM databases, etc. The laboratories are well equipped. This college is located in the city’s technological hub and as a result is encircled by a number of multinational companies. For the outstation candidates’ there are many residential complexes in the vicinity.
