Paper of Reporting Writing and Editing is about the concept of journalism and mass communication. This paper is to enhance the report writing skills of the candidates. Editing of information materials to get the correct format and information to the readers is also part of the course material.

Which Pattern is followed?

Paper of Reporting Writing & Editing is consisting of 10 questions in it. These questions are of equal value of marks. Each question is of long answer type. In the paper, only 5 questions are to be attempted. Last question is of short notes; there are 2 short notes there.

Questions which are asked in the paper are such as Responsibilities of copy editor, Science and technology reporting, Political Reporting, Changing patterns of layout and design in newspaper, definition of editing, process of editing, process of developing a good script for a television documentary, basics of good script for radio, importance of Lead/Intro in news writing, context of techniques of good news writing, definition of feature & difference from routine news reporting, development reporting, role of media in developmental stories, difference of legal reporting from general news reporting, key elements of reporting, context of crime reporting, what is news, events are not news etc.

Tips for the exam:

Paper is needed to be writing with proper attention to fetch maximum marks. Also, every question is of long answer type, candidates must ensure that they are not writing anything which is not asked in the question.

Total marks and time allotted:

Maximum marks which can be scored are 100 and time duration of the paper is 3 hours only.
