IISER Thiruvananthapuram
IISER Thiruvananthapuram or also expanded to be known as the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram is an institution established by the efforts of the Indian Government in 2008, by way of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), based on the advisory report and the recommendation done to the Prime Minister. It aims to fulfil the much desired need of a fully equipped scientific research and upgrading the teachings to an international standard.
Courses Offered:
IISER is an independent institution and it offers an integrated maters degree by the name of M.S. for duration of 5 years in Physics, Maths, Biology, Chemistry other inter- disciplinary fields. In addition, it also provides facilities for doing research in these fields giving Ph D degree. The course is research oriented. The diverse skills gained by a graduate from the institute will help him to pursue science or any other field including industry as his career.
IISER Thiruvananthapuram campus is currently located on the first and second floors of the department of Computer Science in the building at the Engineering College, in Sreekaryam, Trivandrum. A permanent allotted, well established premises enclosing 200 acres, is has been built in Vithura, all along the Ponmudi hill range in the Southern India. A distance of 40 km n all is there which separates the hill range from the Kerala capital.
IISER Thiruvananthapuram provides well equipped and fully fledged Laboratories, Computer Labs with over 50 workstations, Library, Medical Centre, Sports complex, 3 Hostels and other facilities. Short listing of the admissions is done keeping in to account the academic history and performance of the student in the concerned national qualifying examination. The thus selected candidates are called to the campus for further tests or interview session to confirm the admission.

my son Mathav raj have completed +2 in 2012 and now joined in Anna university, Chennai in BE,EEE.1st year Now he wants to join in IISER in BS-MS course. He secured 94.5% in whole and 99% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. He has not take Biology. We are in the SC category. Without Biology will he score marks in Aptitude Test? Is there any other source to join in BS_MS course?
