IIT JAM Computer Applications Papers
The Indian Institute of Technology holds a Joint Admission test for all those aspiring to pursue an M.Sc. and other post graduate programs. The JAM is an entrance exam which guarantees your ticket to the Post graduate programs at any of the IITS. A candidate applying to the MCA or the Master in Computer Application need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics for a year (annual system pattern) and/or two papers in Math (semester system pattern).
A candidate appearing for the exam needs to have an aggregate percentage of 55% in all the papers if he or she belongs to the general category and an aggregate percentage of 50% for SC/ST and PD students. The paper comprises of Math, Computer Knowledge, Analytical abilities and a General Awareness section. The maximum number of marks will be carried by the Math Section, followed by Computer ending with Analytical and General Awareness abilities.
The syllabus for the Math section has several topics covered at the B.Sc. level for example, Algebra, Matrices, Probability, Numerical and Vector Analysis etc. The Computer Awareness section comprises of Algorithmic approach to solve problems, Fundamentals of C language, Basic electronic gates, etc. The last section consists of simple question testing your reasoning and analysis.
