Indian Statistical Institute B.Math Papers
Indian Statistical Institute is one of the best institutes for B.Math. It is an honours degree programme. The course includes papers related to Probability, Statistics, Computing and Physics. The successful performers meeting the requirements of B.Math. degree are automatically admitted to M.Math programme.
Division of the paper:
It is a course of three years divided into six semesters. There are five exams at the end of each trimester (second have four subjects). All these are credit courses. There is one non credit subject (writing of mathematics) in the first semester.
Paper Pattern:
The course consists of both core subjects and the electives. The core subjects include physics, algebra, geometry and computer related skills etc. There are 12 elective subjects including topology, statistics and computation etc. The electives are: one for fifth and two for sixth semester. Any three electives can be selected out of these 12 electives.
Though, the student can select an additional elective according to the time table. But the additional subject will be a non credit subject.
Marking Pattern:
The maximum marks of each credit course are one hundred. The Statistics Comprehensive is of two hundred marks. The aggregate marks are assigned to the students according to the credits of particular subject.
