Joint Postgraduate Entrance Examination is conducted for the admission of MD and MS courses in Ayurveda offered at three Institutes. Admission committee including the faculty members from these Institutes manages this exam.

Structure of Joint Postgraduate Entrance Examination for MD/MS in Ayurveda

This examination will be objective type written test having duration of one and a half hours. There will be total eighty questions for eighty marks. Candidates can score one mark, if the best available answer chosen by them are correct. If it is incorrect, then ¼ marks will be deducted from the total marks obtained by the candidate.

  • Dravya Guna (Pharmacology)
  • Rasa Shastra (Pharmacy)
  • Sharir Rachana (Anatomy)
  • Shareer Kriya (Physiology)
  • Shalya Tantra (Surgery)
  • Kaumara Bhritya (Pediatrics)
  • Panchakarma (Penta Bio-Purification Measures)
  • Swastha Vritta (Preventive medicine and Yoga)
  • Agad Tantra (Toxicology)
  • Shalakya Tantra (E.N.T and Ophthalmology)
  • Prasuti and Stri Roga (Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess B.A.M.S or B.S.A.M degree from any University recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine to apply for this test. They should have completed 12 month internship (in the case of 4 ½ years B.A.M.S course) or 6 month internship (in the case of 5 years B.A.M.S course) after passing the final examination.

How to Apply?

Application forms will be available on the websites www.nia.nic.in and www.ayurveduniversity.edu.in. Applicants should fill the form online and take the print out of the completed form. Then it should be sent to the Director of Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda or National Institute of Ayurveda as preferred by the applicant. Applicants should pay the required fee through demand draft or online payment. DD should be sent along with the completed application form to the concerned authority. DD should be taken in the name of the Director, Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda if the forms are submitted to the Director of Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda. If the forms are submitted to the Director of National Institute of Ayurveda, then the DD should be taken in the name of the Director, National Institute of Ayurveda. Application fee specified for General and OBC candidates will be Rs.1250/-. SC/ST candidates need to pay only Rs.900/- as application fee.

How to fill the Form?

Online application forms should be filled carefully without any errors. Instructions will be given on the website to fill the online forms. Applicants should follow that to avoid errors. Print out of the completed form should be sent to the concerned authority along with the DD and Mark sheet of the final year B.A.M.S exam.
