Mahanadi Coalfields Limited was established under the Government of India. The company is basically a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. Coal India Limited is an undertaking of the schedule-“Navratna”, which is a public sector unit that functions as the single largest coal producing unit with recorded number of employee standing to over 4.15 Lakhs. The organization has it’s headquarter in the city of Kolkata. The Navratna is itself a Government Under taking unit. And the major function performed by Navtra is the execution of the functions of coal mining by managing Coal India Limited.

Job Profile:

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited is filling up the following vacant posts of Junior Overman, Mining Sirdar and Dy. Surveyor under two recruitment drives from which the first one is “Special Recruitment Drive for SC/ST candidates” and the second one is “General Recruitment Drive”:

Under Special Recruitment Drive for SC/ST candidates:

1. Recruitment of Junior Overman Grade-C:
No. of post: 25 posts (SC-4 and ST-21).
Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mining Engineering from any recognized institute is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated pay of Rs. 10127 per month.

2. Recruitment of Mining Sirdar Grade-C:
No. of post: 40 posts (SC-6 and ST-34).
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized board is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated pay of Rs. 10127 per month.

3. Recruitment of Dy. Surveyor Grade-C:
No. of post: 7 posts (SC-1 and ST-6).
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized board is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated pay of Rs. 10127 per month.

Under General Recruitment Drive:

4. Recruitment of Junior Overman Grade-C:
No. of post: 151 posts (Gen-76, OBC-18, SC-24 and ST-33).
Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mining Engineering from any recognized institute is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated pay of Rs. 10127 per month.

5. Recruitment of Mining Sirdar Grade-C:
No. of post: 184 posts (Gen-91, OBC-22, SC-30 and ST-41).
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized board is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated pay of Rs. 10127 per month.

6. Recruitment of Dy. Surveyor Grade-C:
No. of post: 13 posts (Gen-7, OBC-1, SC-2 and ST-3).
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized board is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated pay of Rs. 10127 per month.

Age Limit:

Candidates should have age more than 18 years but not more than 30 years as on 12 December 2010. The upper age limit is relaxable for the SC and ST categroy candidates by 5 years and in the case of OBC category candidates, it is relaxable by 3 years.

Selection Process:

Candidates will have to undergo a written test followed by a personal interview test in order to get selected on the desired positions in Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. A selection committee will be formed by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd to select the best candidates for the specified posts.
