CPCB, which stands for Central Pollution Control Board was established in the year 1974 with the main mandates of promotion of cleanliness of streams and wells and for improvement of quality of air by controlling air pollution as mentioned in the water prevention and air prevention and control of pollution acts belonging to year 1974 and 1981 respectively.

Recruitment by CPCB:

CPCB invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellows for four of its projects and the details of the notification issued by the board for this position are given below:

Number of Vacancies: 101, which is divided as follows:

Project 1: 20

Project 2: 48

Project 3: 31

Project 4: 02

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Junior Research Fellows for all four projects will be getting a pay scale Rs. 12000+HRA and medical benefits as per the rules of the board.

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

Project 1: Candidates must be degree holders in Master of Science in Botany/biotechnology/microbiology or Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in biotechnology/Environmental Engineering

Project 2: Candidates must be degree holders in Master of Science in Chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic and analytical chemistry/microbiology/Botany/biotechnology/zoology or Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Environmental Engineering

Project 3: Candidates must be degree holders in Master of Science in chemistry/applied chemistry/Botany/zoology/life sciences/biosciences/microbiology or graduates in public health engineering, biotechnology/environmental engineering

Project 4: Candidates must be degree holders in Master of Science in chemistry/Botany/zoology/life sciences/biosciences/environmental sciences/microbiology

Age requirement: The age requirement for all first three projects is that candidates must not be more than 28 years of age, while for fourth project alone it is not exceeding 35 years.

Experience:

Project 1: Desirable experience in isolation of bacteriophages/analysis of sewage born pathogenic bacteria or Desirable Experience in Performance studies of Sewage Treatment Plants

Project 2: Desirable Experience in analysis of Water and Waste Water samples(Industries and Sewage) for physico-chemical and bacteriological parameter/sewage drain monitoring/ analysis of sewage born pathogenic bacteria/ Experience in operating instruments like; Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas Liquid Chromatography. Performance studies of sewage treatment plant

Project 3: Experience in analysis of Water and Waste Water samples (Industries and Sewage for physico-chemical and bacteriological parameter)/performance studies of sewage treatment plant/ sewage drain monitoring/ analysis of sewage born pathogenic bacteria/ operating instruments like; Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas Liquid Chromatography/ industrial inspections/ inventories

Project 4: Experience in the field of Environmental Sciences/Water Pollution Control/ River Water Quality Monitoring, Analysis of  Water and Waste Water Samples including river water for physico-chemical and Bacteriological/ Bio-logical parameters.

Selection Procedure:

Selection process will include both written test and interview or interview alone according to the decision of the board
