Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology popularly known as KIIT University located at Khurda, Bhubaneswar in the state of Orissa was set up in the year 1997. It owns the status of being a deemed university and ahs the approval of AICTE. This is a premiere engineering institute of the country which proudly holds the 16th rank at the national level and is recognized as the 5th best private engineering college. The college has also obtained recognition from Limca book of records.

Courses Offered:

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology provides programs in almost every academic field which includes Engineering, Bio-technology, Management, Law, Computer application, Rural management, Fashion, Film Studies, Journalism and Sculpturing. For the engineering course the college offers to opt from a number of branches like Electronics & Communication Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering; Information Technology; Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering; Civil Engineering; Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Masters program in various disciplines of technology is also offered which include Electronics & amp; Mechanical Engineering; Power electronics; Computer science & Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering.

Admission:

The admission to any of the undergraduate or postgraduate program is done through the results of an individual in the institute’s own entrance test known as KIITEE. 35% of the total seats are reserved for AIEEE rankers. To get admitted to the law course you must crack KLSAT (KIIT Law School admission Test). One can do M. Tech from the institute after having qualified the GATE.

Infrastructure:

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology has an expansive campus that ranges over a land area of 300 acres. It consists of 12 individual campuses for various departments. There are in total 11 different schools within the college. The total student strength is 12000. As per the reputation the college provides a well furnished library with 150000 books approximately and with book bank facilities. The laboratories are hi tech. There are good hostel facilities of the college. There are swimming pools, cafeterias for each individual campus.

Placement:

Among the recruiters of the college you will come by almost all the top multinational companies. The placement of the college can be judged by the fact that it was ranked 8th in this respect by Outlook in the entire country. Though it is an endless list we can name a few of them like TCS, Tata InfoTech, WIPRO, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Microsoft and Google.
