Kottureshwara College was established in the year 1967 by the Veerashaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha and the NAAC has recognized the College with B+ status. Initially, the college was under the jurisdiction of Karnataka University and after some years, it was shifted under the jurisdiction of Gulbarga University.

Courses Offered:

Kottureshwara College is offering bachelors degree in arts, science, commerce and business management and under each of these courses, the students are permitted to select subjects in any of the following combinations:

Arts:

• Political Science, history and economics

• Kannada, history and economics

• Kannada, history and education

Science:

• Chemistry, Botany and Zoology

• Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics

• Physics, Electronics and mathematics

• Physics, chemistry and mathematics

Commerce:

• Principles of marketing and computer applications

• Business economics & financial accounting

For all the above-mentioned courses, two languages are common. Of the two languages, English is compulsory and as far as the second language is concerned, students can  choose either Sanskrit, Hindi or Kannada.

The vision of Kottureshwara College is to offer value-based education to the backward community students belonging to rural areas and to make them internationally capable. The mission of the college is to provide students an understanding of ethics and human values, a commitment to national integration, morality and law, to offer them a broad sense of outlook, to impart awareness among the students in environmental sustainability of the nation by making use of green sources.

Objectives of the college:

The objective of Kottureshwara College includes inspiring students on the fields of science & technology, to encourage higher education in rural areas, to provide an awareness to the students about the religious, economic, political and social problems existing in the nation and to create social awareness in their minds.
