Allahabad High Court is also called as High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and this course has its jurisdiction over the state of Uttar Pradesh in India since 1950, during which year the court was incepted. This high court holds the pride of being one among the first courts to be established in the country.

The court’s seat is at the city of Allahabad and it also has a permanent bench in the city of Lucknow in UP. This court has the highest number of sanctioned number of judges in India and the number of judges is 160.

Recruitment by Allahabad High Court:

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Law Clerks (Trainee) by the High Court of Allahabad:

Name of the position: Law Clerk (Trainee)

Number of Vacancies: 61, which might increase or decrease

Duration of the position: Law Clerks are going to be appointed on contractual basis for a period of one year. However, if the court finds that the incumbent is lacking expertise, he/she might be terminated from the position.

Pay scale: A fixed honorarium of Rs. 10,000 will be paid for the whole period of contract without any other benefits.

Job profile of Law Clerk (Trainee):

Fundamentally, candidates appointed for this position will be required to carry out research and search of legal principles and points as directed by the Honorable Judge with whom the candidate will be working for the whole period. Eligibility:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their three-year of five-year integrated LLB course from any of the recognized universities in India and even candidates who have not yet started their practicing as advocate can also apply for the position. Even candidates who are in the final year of their LLB course and candidates waiting for their results shall apply. However, these candidates must submit their final mark sheet during the interview, which is going to be held in the month of July. Candidates should also possess computer knowledge in areas like computer operations, word processing and data entry.

Age: Candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 26 years of age as on the 1st of July 2011.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates for the position of law clerks will be purely on the basis of their performance in the interview, which would be conducted at Lucknow or at Allahabad.

Candidates can purchase the application form from the campus of the Allahabad High Court on payment of Rs. 150 in cash. Application can also be downloaded from the website of court at www.allahabadhighcourt.in and in this case application fee must be paid through bank draft or postal order in favor of Registrar General, High court of Judicature at Allahabad.
