B.S. Abdur Rahman University is offering education from the city of Vandalur in Chennai and the university was formerly acting as B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College. The university was established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956 and it is located in the outskirts of the city of Chennai at a distance of about 7 kms from the city of Tambaram and at about 2 kms from the Vandalur Railway Station and about 17 kms from the international airport of Chennai. The university can be easily reached through buses since it is located next to the Vandalur Zoological Park.
