Chaudhary Charan Singh University came into existence in the year 1965 in the name of Meerut University and the university was established to meet the higher education requirements of the people belonging to the western part of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The teaching departments belonging to different faculties of education dealt by the university are housed in the spacious building of the university and they are provided with all advanced facilities. The university has an engineering college under its jurisdiction and this college is offering courses under different branches of engineering.
