Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University came into existence in the year 1958 on the 23rd of August and the university is located in the city of Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra. The university is offering education through its different departments like chemical technology, biochemistry, law, urdu, tourism, Sanskrit, geography, education, computer science, environment science, physical education, etc… and totally 30 departments are functioning in the university. The university is recognized by the UGC and the NAAC has awarded the university with B+ Grade.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is offering education through its 30 departments functioning under six different faculties of education namely, arts, science, commerce, social science, law and education. The university is imparting education in different levels of education like UG and PG and is also engaged in research activities through its different educational department. According to the guidance offered by the University Grants Commission, the university is also scheduling Continuing education programs like masters diploma in counseling, diploma in adult, continuing and extension education.
In addition to the aforesaid course, the university is also offering M. Phil and Ph. D in different branches of education. The main aim of this university is creation, dissemination and preservation of knowledge through research, extension and teaching programmes. The university also aims at meeting the higher education requirements of the local people and to play a crucial role in the economical, social and educational growth of the people belonging to the state of Aurngabad.
