National Law University, Delhi shortly called as NLUD came into existence in the year 2008 and it is a public university located in the city of New Delhi. The University has earned approval from the University Grants Commission and the Bar Council of India. The university has Dr. Ranbir Singh as its Vice Chancellor and Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, who is the chancellor of the university is also acting as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi. It is one of the elite national law schools in the country built on five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India. The University was established due to the efforts of the Delhi High Court and it has been offering five-year integrated degree programme with effect from the year 2008-09.
NLUD offers law courses at different levels of education starting from UG course to research level courses. The students of the university are encouraged to actively take part in activities like moot court competitions and debate competitions in such a way that they can get some practical hands on experience as if they are practicing in a court of law.
