Veer Narmad South Gujarat University came into existence in the year 1966 and it is located in the historical city of Surat in the state of Gujarat. The campus of the university is provided with different education facilities like computer centre and library. Totally 78 grant-in-aid colleges and 129 self-financing colleges are offering education with affiliation from this university.
The affiliated colleges offer education under different faculties like pharmacy, science, computer applications, para-medicine, homeopathy, education, physical education, social work, etc… The university is not only offering education through these affiliated colleges, but it is also offering education through the departments functioning under its jurisdiction in its own campus. Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat is also called as South Gujarat University and the university got its present name in the year 2004.
