Yogi Vemana University came into existence recently in the year 2006 in the Kadapa District of the state of Andhra Pradesh. This university was previously working as a Post Graduate Centre of Sri Venkatewara University located in Tirupathi in the same state. The university was given this name in honor of the Philosophical Yogi, who was practicing Achala Paripurna Raja Yoga.
Yogi Vemana University is offering education under different faculties like law, commerce, mass communication, science, arts, engineering and management. The engineering and management courses offered by the University are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The two constituent colleges operating under the jurisdiction of university offer education in the faculties of engineering and management.

D courses based on the performance of the students in the Yogi Vemana University Research Common Entrance Test and for applying to this test, candidates must have completed their Master’s degree in the concerned subject/discipline as prescribed by the university. The university is engaged in research activities through its different centres like Regional Instrumentation Centre, Centre for Applied Biotechnology & Geonomics, Centre for Natural Resources Research and Application, Language Laboratory and Communication Centre and Centre for Regional Studies & Development.
