Biology is a subject which deals with the living organisms, life in plants and the different sector of this subject is very vast. Medical and pharmacy are the two major sectors which are totally based on this subject. A good knowledge in this paper helps a candidate in the future.

Paper Pattern:

Questions in the biology paper are from different sections of Botany and Zoology. The paper is of subjective questions, total questions in the paper are 4. Each question contains 5-6 sub questions which are related to the same section. In every question, only 3 are to be solved from the 5-6 questions. The paper contains questions of descriptive type and questions are needed to be solved with the help of a neat sketch if necessary.  Every question should be attempted and marks of every question are indicated at the end of the question.

Questions in the paper are of subjective type. The questions in the paper are divided into two sections, Botany and Zoology. Questions asked are diagram of open vascular bundle, passive cells, acrocentric chromosomes, splicing, cyclic photophosphorylation, Richmond Lang effect etc. Questions from the Zoology section is from cDNA, difference between RNA and DNA, function of artificial pacemaker, Hardy-Weinberg’s law transmission of Rabies and cholera, role of genetic drift in evolution etc.

Total marks and time allotted:

Total marks allotted to the paper are 100 and time duration of the paper is 3 hours only. The questions in the paper are of equal marks and each question in the paper is of 5 marks. Questions of long answer type answers are of 15 marks.
