Master of Computer Application is a very popular course in India. This course is one of the traditional courses offered by various universities to students who wish to pursue a career in computer application. When we look specifically at Rajasthan, technical education is facing increased acceptability from the students.

Eligibility Criteria:
MCA is a three years course with six semesters. This course provides ample career opportunities to students upon completion. Students who have completed their BBA, B Tech and BCA with a minimum of 60 percent are eligible to pursue MCA. Also Science graduates are allowed to do MCA provided they have opted for Mathematics in their standard 12. Every state has its own entrance exam to streamline the best of the students. Also entrance exams are in place as the demand for this course is very high.
Entrance Test:
Rajasthan Government as part of their initiative to boost technical education have made CET, a separate autonomous department under the Department of Education. They conduct an annual RMCAAT (Rajasthan MCA Admission Test). This test is an aptitude test on the lines of CAT and CET exams of other states. The successful candidates are further shortlisted through a round of centralized Group Discussion and Personal Interviews.
Nature of Entrance Test:
RMCAAT (Rajasthan MCA Admission Test) is modeled on the lines of CET. It comprises 200 multiple choice questions on Science, Mathematics, Vocabulary and General Awareness. Each correct answer will give one mark. There is a negative marking for wrong answers. Separate study material for entrance exam is available in the book stores.
Career Options:
An MCA from any of the institute from Rajasthan will equip the students with knowledge in Software Application and development, Hardware Development, Networking, Systems Development and Management. Most of the colleges have their own specialized Placement cell which will assist the students in finding their dream job. Also companies visit campuses and have their own recruitment drives every year.
