National Eligibility test or NET is the common exam which is held for the determination of eligible candidates for fellowship or JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). The paper is conducted by UGC every year. Criminology is the subject which is almost new in comparison to other subjects.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

Students appearing for the paper must have a master’s degree in any field with minimum of 55% from any recognised board or University. Students who are waiting for their final results are also eligible to apply provided that they will be able to show their final passing certificate in time of admission. Maximum age limit for the JRF is 28 years but there are no issues for lectureship. Reservations for SC/ST are according to the UGC norms.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

Paper contains questions with equal marks and there will be no deduction of marks for giving wrong answer. So, students can attempt each question.

Mode of Exam:

Examination is just like any most other entrance exams. You have to mark your response in an OMR sheet provided.

Format:

This Criminology paper contains objective type of questions. Each and every question has  4 choices and you can mark only one.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of Criminology (Paper II) consists of 50 questions and equal weightage has been given to all the questions in this paper. However, these questions are of equal marks and the best part is that there no penalty for incorrect answers.

Marking:

Paper is of 100 marks and students must mark all the answers as they won’t be penalised for incorrect response.

Schedule:

Paper is needed to be solved in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
