Nilkanth M. Ed College is managed by Shri Merchant Charitable Trust located at Visnagar. The college is approved to offer M. Ed course by the National Council for Teacher Education, Government of Gujarat and by the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University located at Patan.

Course Details:

As the name implies Nilkanth M. Ed College is offering Master of Education course, which is divided into two semesters and the medium instruction followed  by the college is Gujarati. For the first semester of the course, subjects offered are educational research & research process, advanced educational psychology, philosophical aspects of education, fundamentals of information technology in education and education & vocational guidance/psychological testing. For the second semester, courses like treatment of data and report writing, development of learner, sociological aspects of education, computer application and career counseling/measurement of mental abilities are offered.

Eligibility for admission and intake capacity:

For getting admission to the Nilkanth M. Ed College, candidates must have completed their bachelor of education course with a minimum aggregate of 55% of marks and the intake capacity of the college is 25 students per year.

Selection of students:

Nilkanth M. Ed College is selecting students to the M. Ed course as per the norms issued by the affiliating university and Government of Gujarat from time to time. Of the total number of 25 seats, 85% of seats are filled as per university norms and remaining 25% of seats are management quota seats. The reservation of seats also includes special quota for women candidates, candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC.

Fee Structure:

The fee structure for the M. Ed course offered by the college is decided based on the recommendations of the Honorable Justice R.J. Shah Fee Committer of the Government of Gujarat.

Instructional Facilities:

For effective practical training to the students several instructional facilities like T.L.M. Lab, workshop, computer lab, technology lab, psychology lab, science lab and library with reading room facility are offered by the college.
