Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology Entrance exam is conducted by Orissa University each year. This exam is organized for the selection of eligible candidates for the various under graduate courses offered by different institutes under the University of Orissa. The institutes under this University provides opportunities for large number of students to pursue a bachelors Degree in Agriculture and Related fields.. Numerous candidates from all parts of the country apply for the test each year. The duration of the under graduate courses are of three months duration. The Under graduate courses are offered by the university in the following disciplines.

  • B. Sc. (Horticulture)
  • B.V.Sc & A.H
  • B. Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)
  • B.F.Sc

Structure of OUAT Exam

The selection of the eligible candidates will be on the basis of the written test. The written test includes the questions in the objective type format. The time allotted for finishing the exam is two hours. The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions from the topics in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Total marks awarded for the exam is 200 marks. In the written test each questions are given with four alternatives. Candidates have to pick the correct answer from it and darken the appropriate bubble in the OMR answer sheet. Those who secure good marks will qualify the exam.

Three sections of 200 questions are included in the written test from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics in the Higher Secondary syllabus. The questions are expected from the following topics.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who have completed their Plus two with 50% marks in aggregate can apply for the entrance test. The SC/ST candidates required 40% marks in their qualifying exam. The candidates should have studied Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Biology/Mathematics as an optional subject. The applying candidates should have attained minimum 17 years of age at the time of the admission process. Those who are appearing for their plus two exams can also apply for the test. Those who fulfil all the eligibility criteria can apply for the test.

How to Apply?

The application form and exam prospectus will be available from the State Bank of India’s branch in the Orissa University campus. The candidates can obtain the application payment from there by the cash payment of Rs.515/-. Those who wish to get the form in post can send a request letter and a crossed Bank draft or cheque of Rs.550/- to the Assistant Registrar of the University. The application form will also be there in the OUAT website. The candidates can download it and use. The application fee paid once will not be refundable.

How to fill the Form?

The application form includes two part Form A and Form B. The candidates have to follow all the instructions given in the exam notification and in the prospectus while filling the form. All the details should be filled in Capital letters. The name of the candidates should be filled as per in the Matriculation certificate. Any error occurred in the form will lead to the rejection of the form and finally the chance of the candidates to attend the exam. The fee payment details should be filled correctly. The form A should be send to the concerned authority before the last date of receiving the application form. The form B should be send after the exam with the needed documents. Those who use the downloaded form have to send the demand draft with the application form.

The candidates have to start their preparation at least three months before the exam. The candidates have to develop a study plan which could follow by the candidates. The syllabus of the exam will be there in the website. Collects notes from all possible sources and prepare with the help of that. Revision of the topics is very important. Previous question papers are available from the website. Conduct mock tests with the help of those questions. It helps the candidates the style of the questions and which topics are more important. Give more time for preparing those portions.  Following a good study plan helps the candidates to win the exam.

How and Where To Get the Results?

The result of the exam is published in the official website www.ouat.ac.in. The candidates can use the website for knowing the details of the exam and the admission process.

Score Validity

The exam score is valid for one year till at the closing date of the admission process.
