PSG Institute was established in the year 1985 as part of the existing Maternal and child care center of PSG Charities, at Coimbatore. This college was granted recognition by the Medical Council of India, Srilankan Medical Council and the General Medical Council of United Kingdom.

The process of admission is done through the counseling of Dr. MGR Medical University.

Services:

Hostel service is available for the students belonging to other states and abroad. The hostel is capable of giving 320 male students and 320 female students single room facility. In addition to this, 370 rooms are available for interns and PG students.  Complete facilities are offered at the hostel apartment for all the students.

Library:

It holds collection of over 15,000 volumes of books and 4500 back volumes of books. It also extends MEDLAR SERVICE, and international pharmaceutical abstract service for the benefit of the students. The timings of the library is extended up to midnight for motivating the students to learn more and it also extends Xerox service at reasonable cost.
