HSC passed candidates in science stream can apply for B.Pharm course in Kurukshetra University. Admission process is carried out through an entrance test conducted at the University. Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics/Biotechnology/ Computer Science are the topics asked for the entrance test. The University also offers admission to M.Pharm for B.Pharm holders with a minimum of 55% marks. Admission to this course is done either on the basis of GPAT or University conducted entrance exam. Topics like Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology are asked for University conducted entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm/M.Pharm Entrance Test in Kurukshetra University

Candidates having passed Senior Secondary Certificate Examination from any of the recognized board can apply for B.Pharm course. They should have studied Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Such candidates should have studied any one of the following subjects as optional subjects.

  • Biology
  • Bio-technology
  • Computer Science
  • Mathematics

Basic eligibility required to join M.Pharm course is Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Kurukshetra University or equivalent. This qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 55% marks. SC/ST candidates are required to hold a minimum of 50% marks only.

Pattern for B.Pharm/M.Pharm Entrance Test in Kurukshetra University

Exam pattern for B.Pharm and M.Pharm entrance test are different to each other. Questions asked for the test are of objective/multiple choice type. Entrance test for B.Pharm is conducted for a maximum of 90 marks. Duration of the exam is 90 minutes. There are three parts for the test, Part I, Part II, and Part III. In Part I, thirty questions are asked from the subject of Physics. Part II includes questions on Chemistry (30 questions). Subjects of Biology or Mathematics/Biotechnology/ Computer Science are asked for Part III. The total of 90 marks is distributed in such a way that each part carries 30 marks.

Duration for M.Pharm entrance test is 1 hour. Fifty multiple choice questions are asked for 100 marks. Syllabus for the test is based on subjects covered under B.Pharm. Main topics asked for the entrance test are mentioned below.

Application form for attending the entrance test can be down loaded from the web site of Kurukshetra University. This can also be collected from the counter of the University or through registered post. Fee for collecting the application form is Rs. 1000/-. Application form filled in all respects must be sent to the address of the Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, KUK before last date.
