PhD in Condensed Matter Physics
The course is dedicated towards enlightening the students about the diversified aspects of quantum chaos concerned to semiconductor super lattices, quantum hall breakdown, correlation effects concerned to the quantum dot tunnelling and micromechanical systems in the aspect of quantum phenomenon. The students are also made aware of the concepts of vibrancy coupling, optical fibres, photonic crystals and the concerned electromagnetic wave chaos, effects of the demagnetizing fields on the NMR spectra, ultra cold atoms, and the hydrodynamic descriptions of the quantum hall breakdown and the theory of vibrating wire viscometer. Having a sound knowledge of these diversified aspects one is capable of serving the responsible profiles to which he is appointed.
Eligibility:
The students, who are interested in pursuing the course, are required to have a bachelor degree in physics and the master’s degree too in the same field. However, few of the institutes pose special requirements of theirs in the same concern.
Course Outlook:
The course is formatted for duration of three years. The students are required to complete their thesis containing a detailed observation of the research, carried out by them in concern to the respective field.
