Physical Therapist – How to become a Physical Therapist?


Physical Therapists are the trained professionals who treat injuries and help the patients to overcome their physical disabilities occurred from the injury or illness. They analyze the physical disability experienced by a patient and determine a treatment plan for the patient. This treatment plan will contain different therapeutic treatments like massage, ultrasound or electrical stimulation to improve the mobility, strength, coordination, range of motion and posture of the body part which experience the concerned disability. Qualifying Exam

One should obtain the Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree to become a Physical Therapist. Those who have this degree can apply for the job of Physical Therapist offered by various health care organizations. After practicing for a long time as physical therapist, one can gain enough confidence in their profession. Also they can find jobs in more reputed institutes with this work experience. If they want more exposure in their profession, then it is better to pursue Master of Physiotherapy course after completing graduation in the related field.

Who are eligible to apply?

Candidates who have passed plus two or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology can apply for the common entrance test conducted for the admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy course. Those who qualify this entrance test can pursue four and a half year Bachelor of Physiotherapy course in any recognized institute. After completing this course successfully, one can pursue their career as Physical Therapist. Those who are interested to pursue Master’s degree course after this four and a half year course should qualify the concerned entrance test conducted for the admission to post graduation course in physiotherapy.
