South Indian Bank was founded in the year 1929 as a private sector bank which has its headquarter located at Thrissur, Kerala. Dr. V. A. Joseph is the present Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of bank. There are approximatley 580 branches and three extension counters of the bank present in India. The bank has also set up over 375 ATMs all over the country. The bank has been awarded with the special award for excellence in Banking Technology from Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology. The bank has the third largest branch network among private sector banks in the country.

Job Profile:

Candidates are requested to apply online for the vacant positions of Probationary Clerks in South Indian Bank. Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited for filling up the vacancies of Probationary Clerks in the Bangalore region branches of South Indian Bank. Selected candidates will have to work on probation for a period of 6 months. The period of probation may get extended as per the performance of candidates. Candidates should be willing to serve anywhere in India.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post of Probationary Clerks is 21 years as on 31 Decmeber 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post of Probationary Clerks is 26 years as on 31 Decmeber 2011.

There will be relaxation in the Upper age limit as per the rules of Government of India for reserved categories candidates. Upper age limit will be relaxed by five years for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes categories.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification required to be possessed by the candidates for being eligible for the post of Probationary Clerk is Graduation from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Candidates should also have passed or completed a regular 10+2+3 course securing minimum 55% marks in aggregate in Science stream. Candidates with 10+2+3 qualification in Arts or other streams are required to possess minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates should also have proficiency in computer operations. Candidates possessing qualification less than the specified one, should not apply as their applications will not be considered by the bank under any circumstances.

No. of posts: Total 25 posts are available.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary i.e. as per National Level Bipartite Settlement in the Banking Industry.

Application Fee:

Rs. 250 is need to be submitted or paid by the interested candidates (only General and OBC candidates) as application fee. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are required to pay the application fee of Rs. 50 only. Submission of application fee must be done in the form of a crossed A/C payee demand draft. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of The South Indian Bank limited payable at Bangalore.

Selection Process:

Bank will first shortlist the eligible candidates on the basis of their applications. Those shortlisted candidates will then be called for a Written Test at the various centres. Successful candidates of the written test will then be allowed to appear in the final stage of selection process i.e. Personal Interview Test.

How to apply: Candidates should fill up complete and correct details in their application form and send it after affixing a photo at appropriate place by ordinary post only. Applications must be accompnaied by self attested copies of required documents. The envelope should be superscribed as “Application for the post of Probationary Clerks”.
