Aspirants seeking to become a Cosmologist should pass +2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects. They have to pursue B.Tech or any other graduation in Aviation and Space science related disciplines and follow it up with a post-graduation.  Aspirants can enhance their career prospects by doing a Ph.D also.

Eligibility Requirements

Aspirants can begin their academics in the undergraduate level by pursuing a Bachelor of Technology Degree or a Bachelor of Science Degree. Admission to these courses will be based on the entrance examinations conducted by the concerned colleges and/or the marks received in the qualifying exam. Aspirants can choose from courses like Bachelor of Technology in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Physical Sciences, Astronomy, Bachelor of Science in Physics.

Following the successful completion of the Bachelor’s degree, aspirants can further go ahead for a Master of Technology in Propulsion,  RF and Microwave Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Optical Engineering, Master of Science in Astrophysics or Physics. To obtain a Master of Technology, candidates have to successfully complete the relevant Bachelor programme or have the desired GATE score. Admissions to the M.Sc courses are based on the entrance examinations conducted by the institutions and the marks obtained in the qualifying B.Sc degree.

A Ph.D in the relevant area can further enhance the credentials of the candidate. A thesis has to be submitted to the institution as part of admission to the Ph.D program.
