Procedure to pursue B.Ed from JMI

Graduates with a minimum of 50% marks can apply for B.Ed course in Jamia Millia Islamia. Apart from these qualifications, those applying for B.Ed (Special Education) should have studied subjects like English, Geography, Chemistry, and Zoology (at least one) at graduate level. Admission of eligible candidates is made on the basis of an entrance test conducted by JMI. There are three sessions for the entrance test, general ability test, subject comprehension test, and language proficiency test.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed in JMI

Bachelor’s degree is the basic qualification required for admission marks (except B.A / B.Sc. vocational course). This course must be completed with a minimum of 50% marks. Those who have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in graduation and 50% marks in PG are also eligible to apply.

Apart from these qualifications, those candidates applying for B.Ed (Special Education) should have studied any one of the following subjects at graduate level.

Admission Procedure for B.Ed in JMI

Admission of eligible candidates is made on the basis of an entrance test conducted by JMI. There are three sessions for the entrance test.

  • General Ability Test
  • Subject Comprehension Test
  • Language Proficiency test

General ability section is asked for 75 marks. This section is again subdivided in to three and is based on topics such as general intelligence, general awareness, and teaching aptitude. Subject comprehension test contains 60 multiple choice questions that are asked for 60 marks. The test is to be taken in the subject in which the candidate has applied for B.Ed. Language proficiency test is to be taken in the language, which the candidate has taken as the medium of instruction. Thirty five objective model questions are included in this section.

Admission Procedure for B.Ed (Nursery Education/Special Education) in JMI

Entrance exam pattern for B.Ed (Nursery Education/ Special Education) is slightly different from that of B.Ed program. The test comprises of 100 multiple choice questions for 100 marks. Questions are asked from the following topics.

  • General Intelligence
  • General Awareness
  • Teaching Aptitude

Each of the sections of general intelligence and general awareness carries 35 marks. Marks given for the section of teaching aptitude is 30.

Application forms for attending the entrance test can be collected from the official website of JMI. Once the application got filled up, it must be sent to the address of the University before deadline date.
