Indian Institute of Mass Communication was established or funded by the Government of India. It is actually an autonomous society under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The institute is considered as a premier media school of the country. The institute was founded on August 17, 1965. There are two branches of the institute locaed at Delhi and Orissa. The institute provides various courses or disciplines including Photo Journalism, Television Journalism etc. Mr. Jaideep Bhatnagar is on the position of Officer-on-Special Duty in the institute.

Job Profile:

Indian Institute of Mass Communication invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for filling up the following positions of Professor, Associate professor and Assistant Professor. Vacancies of Professor are available in English Journalism, Hindi Journalism and Development Communication. Vacancies of Associate Professor is available in New Media, Integrated Marketing Communication, Communication & media research and English Journalism. The post of Assistant Professor is available in the disciplines of Advertising Media Planning and Hindi. However, the post of Assistant Professor is reserved for Physically Handicapped (Orthopedically category).

1. Recruitment of Professor (English Journalism/Hindi Journalism/ Development Communication):
Posts Available: Only 3 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 55 years as on 31 December 2011.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should be an eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline with published work of high quality.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

2. Recruitment of Associate Professor (New Media/ Intergrated Marketing Communication/ Communication & Media Research/ English Journalism):
Posts Available: Only 5 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 45 years as on 31 December 2011.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should be an eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at Master’s degree level.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.

3. Recruitment of Professor (Advertising Media Planning/ Hindi):
Posts Available: Only 2 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 40 years as on 31 December 2011.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at Master’s degree level in the relevant discipline from an Indian University.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

All interested candidates are required to send a demand draft of Rs. 200 alongwith their application form. The demand draft should be made in favour of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. Submission of the application fee is must for each and every candidates. Without submission of this application fee, applications will not be considered by the institute.
