North-Eastern Hill University was established as a Central university in the year 1973. The university actually came into existence as a result of an Act of Indian Parliament. Mr. G. K. Menon is the Chancellor of the university while Mr. A. N. rai is the Vice Chancellor. The main aim of the university is to improve the social and economic conditions of the people of north easter region by providing advance knowledge. Educational Qualification: Candidates should have done Ph.D. degree in the concerned or relevant discipline from a recognized university. Candidates should have passed Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Minimum 8 years of teaching or research experience is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
No. of posts: Only 63 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have done Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Candidates should also possess a good academic record throughout. Besides the prescribed educational qualification, candidates should also cleared the national Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC, CSIR.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.
