Berhampur University is a major university of Odisha. The university was established in the year 1967 under Government of India. Mr. M. C. Bhandare is the Chancellor of the university while Professor Dr. Jayanta Kumar Mohapatra is the Vice Chancellor. The university has a rural campus and is affiliated to UGC, Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university actually came into existence after a bill was passed in the Orissa Legislative Assembly. The university was inaugurated by the then Governor of Orissa, Ayodhya Nath Khosla. He was also the first challor of the university.

Eligibility:

Age Limit for the posts of Professor, Reader and Lecturer is same as applicable to State Government servants. Reserved category candidates will get relaxation of few years in the maximum age limit set for the post.

Educational Qualification:

Professor: Candidates should be an eminent scholar with atleast 10 years of experience in the Post Graduate teaching or research work.

Reader: Candidates should have a good academic record with Doctoral degree or equivalent. Candidates should also posses atleast 5 years of experience in teaching or research work.

Lecturer: Candidates should possess a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates should have cleared the NET examination.

Pay Scale:

Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.
Reader: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8000.
Lecturer: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

Application Fee:

General and OBC categories candidates are required to submit an application fee of Rs. 1000. SC/ST candidates should submit the application fee of Rs. 750 only. The application fee must be submitted by the means of a Bank Draft. The bank draft is need to be drawn in favour of Comptroller of Finance, Berhampur University payable at SBI, Bhanja Bihar (Code:2107).
