Tea Board of India was formed in the year 1953 as an Indian government organization. The headquarter of the board is located at Kolkata. Mr. Basudev Banerjee is the current chairman of the board. The board actually came into existence by the enactment of the Tea Act in 1953. The board is mainly responsible for regulating the Indian trade in tea. The board is separated into different standing committees named as Executive Committee, Development Committee, Labour Welfare Committee and Export Promotion Committee. The board also has its office located in London.

THe application fee of prescribed amount is need to be send by a Demand Draft or Indian Postal order payable to Tea Board at Kolkata. Rs. 100 is the amount of application for General and OBC categories candidates. SC/ST/PH and Ex-Serviceman canddiates are exempted from paying the application fee.
