Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) conducts an entrance exam each year for the selection of the candidates for the B.Tech courses offered by the institute. The courses offered by RIST in Meghalaya are approved by AICTE and Human Resources Department of Indian Government. There are various Engineering degree courses offered by the institute. The duration of the course is four years.

Structure of RIST Meghalaya entrance exam

The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of the written entrance test conducted by the Regional Institute of Science & Technology. The written test consists of questions of the objective type. The time allotted for the exam will be of two hours. The test comprises of questions from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question is provided with four different options. The candidates have to select the correct answer from the given alternatives. Negative marks will be awarded for the wrong answers.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who attend the exam should complete their Higher Secondary with 50% marks else they are not eligible to apply for the test. The candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics. Other backward category candidates require 45% marks in the Higher Secondary Examination. The students who are going to appear for their qualifying examination can apply for the test. The candidates should have minimum 17 years of age. Those who satisfy all the eligibility conditions for the exam can apply for the test.

How to Apply for RIST entrance exam?

The application form for the Regional Institute of Science & Technology exam is available from the institute by the cash payment of Rs.500/-. The candidates can obtain the application form by post. They need to send a request letter and a demand draft of Rs.500/- payable at SBI Khanapura. The form will also be available in their official website. Interested candidates can download it from the website. The application fee is not refundable.

How to fill the form for RIST entrance exam?

The form should be filled as per the guidelines given in the information bulletin. The candidates should fill the form in their handwriting. The photograph of the candidates should be pasted in the form. The photograph should have be taken within two months of filling the form and it should be clear. Any error in the filled application form leads to the cancellation of the form. The Demand Draft of the exam fee should be send with the application form. The candidates should make sure that the application form reaches before the last date.

Score Validity

The score of RIST exam is valid only for the admission period of the corresponding academic year. It is generally a one year period.
