Role of Astrophysics course in modernization

Astrophysics is a sub part of astronomy. It deals with universal physics and this includes the interactions between the celestial objects and their physical properties. In astrophysics, we study about planets, galaxies, comets’ and stars. The emission of these planets and stars are studied, i.e their luminosity, density and temperature. A candidate with interest in celestial wonders and who has a great interest in doing research in this field will get many opportunities as there is shortage of talented people

Astrophysics course an overview

As the world is spending more money in finding out the wonders of outer space, the scope for astrophysics courses has also increased. Also now, we mostly depend on satellites for mapping and education. They are now used for studying far objects in the space thus helping the astrophysicists to find out many new things about space. Actually in astrophysics we study many subjects like physics, mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, biology, medicine, psychology, computer science, and other fields of scientific knowledge.

Courses offered in this field

Astrophysics can be studied at many universities. Bachelors, masters and PhD degrees can be done in this course. There are many other courses under astrophysics, astrochemistry which deals with both astronomy and chemistry, astrogeology which deals with the structural compositions of all celestial bodies like stars, planets comets etc. Astromestrology is another course which deals with the effects of these celestial bodies in the atmosphere of earth. Then there is astrometry which deals with finding out the exact distance of each planet, stars and other celestial bodies. This is very important as it gives us the idea of exact location of planets and stars. Astrobiology deals with the study of living forms or organisms in outer space i.e. in other planets and galaxy’s. This is preferred by most of the students interested in this field. Optical astronomy deals with optical band and radio astronomy deals with radio bands.

A candidate opting for this course should have studied physics and maths in the plus 2 level. These candidates can go for degree level courses in this astrophysics field. Many institutions provide Bsc courses in this field. For post graduate courses, a candidate should have studied maths and physics in the degree level or should have an engineering degree from recognized institute. Doctoral or PhD programs are also offered in this course, for this a candidate should have a post graduate degree from this field or from any of the related fields.
