The candidates who have completed MD in General Medicine can’t expect a very high salary in the starting stages in a government hospital. But based on the experience and skill in the field, one can achieve salary hikes. Generally in government hospitals, a MD in General Medicine may get a starting monthly salary of about Rs.30,000/- to Rs.50,000/-. There are various government level exams by which they can get promotions to higher posts and hence can get higher salary. The main advantage of the MD graduates in governmental firms is that they have high job security than the others in private sector. There are also other benefits such as pension for those working in governmental sector.

Salaries after MD in General Medicine in Private Institutions

The salaries for the MD graduates in General Medicine will be much higher than those in government firms. The starting pay scale for them in a reputed private organization will be in the range of Rs.60,000 to Rs.80,000 per month. This may increase with the experience and the skill of the Doctor. Within 2-3 years, it’s possible to get more than Rs.1 lakh monthly salary for high skilled persons in the field. The doctors in private institutions can also start a private clinic by his own which will add more to his income.

Remuneration after MD in General Medicine Abroad

The pay scale of the MD graduates in General Medicine will be much higher in foreign countries such as U.S.A, Australia, Japan, Singapore, etc than their mother land. On the basis of skill and experience, they can secure a lucrative post in any of the medical institutes in foreign countries. The starting salary for them abroad will be in the range of Rs.1.2lakhs to 1.5 lakhs per month. This may rapidly increase based on their performance in the field.
