Selection Procedure and Emoluments for ‘Graduate Trainee’ Recruitment in MECON Limited


MECON Limited often recruits candidates who have completed graduation in Mechanical Engineering/ Civil Engineering to the post of Management Trainee in technical department. Selection procedure for the year 2013 will be  based on the GATE score of 2013 and performance in personal interview conducted by MECON Ltd. Selected candidates can earn pay package of Rs. 20600/- to Rs. 46500/- per month and other allowances which include HRA , Provident Fund and D A.

Eligibility Criterion for Management Trainee in MECON Ltd

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have completed Bachelor of Technology or Engineering in any of the following disciplines are eligible to apply

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

Candidates are required to complete graduation in regular basis from AICTE/ UGC approved institutions. They should have secured a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate in all semesters. Those who are belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe require at least 55 % of marks so as to be eligible. Final year candidates can also apply.

Age Restriction

Upper age limit for General category candidates is 26 years at the time of application. SC/ ST candidates can seek age relaxation up to 5 years. Those who belong to Other Backward Class can claim relaxation for a maximum of 3 years. Candidates who are physically challenged can seek relaxation in upper age limit up to 5 years.

Selection Procedure

Recruitment to the post of Management Trainee in Mecon Ltd. is based on the scores obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2013). Those shortlisted will get a call to attend group discussion. Candidates’ interpersonal skill as well as subject knowledge will be evaluated in group discussion. Those who have performed well in group discussion will be called for personal interview conducted by the organization. Final year candidates who have qualified GATE exam will have to submit their final semester mark sheet at the time of recruitment.

Emoluments for Graduate Trainee in MECON Limited

Candidates who have cleared the final interview will be appointed as Management Trainee. They will be sent for on job training for one year. They will be paid Rs. 20,600/- per month during training period. After successful completion of training, candidates will be appointed as probationary officer with salary package of Rs. 20600/- to Rs.46500/-. In addition to basic salary, they will be given other allowances such as Dearness Allowance, H R A and other perks such as Performance based pay, Provident Fund, Medical facility and Gratuity. Those who have completed probation period will be confirmed in the post of Assistant Design Engineer. The total compensation package is around Rs. 7.25 lakhs CTC per year.
