Union Bank of India has invited applications for Specialist Officer in specific profiles like Assistant General Manager (IT), Chief Manager (IT-Network), Senior Manager (IT-Network), Printing Technologist, and Security Officer. For all the three Managerial positions candidates can directly attend a GD, psychometric test and personal interview as part of selection. For other posts, it is compulsory to clear a written exam first followed by GD, psychometric test and personal interview. The written exam will cover questions from subject areas like – Reasoning, English language, Professional knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude and GK. The tentative date to submit online applications is 23rd April, 2013.

  • Company Secretary – Scale II

Selection Procedure for Specialist Officer in Union Bank

The selection procedure will basically include the following process –

  • Section 1 – Written Test
  • Section 2 – Group Discussion
  • Section 3 – Psychometric Test
  • Section 4 – Personal Interview

The bank holds the right to conduct either written test/ GD/Psychometric Test/Personal Interview for selection of candidates for any of the respective posts mentioned above. Following are the main positions where in the selection of candidates will done only by conducting a GD, Psychometric Test and Personal Interview –

  • Assistant General Manager (IT) – Scale V
  • Chief Manager (IT-Network) – Scale IV
  • Senior Manager (IT-Network) – Scale III

For all the other posts, candidates should compulsorily appear for written exam followed by other specific selection procedures. The written examination consist a total of 250 objective model questions from the following areas –

  • Paper I – Test of Reasoning – Total 50 questions for 50 marks
  • Paper II – Test of Quantitative Aptitude - Total 50 questions for 50 marks
  • Paper III – Test of Professional Knowledge (relevant to the post) - Total 100 questions for 100 marks
  • Paper IV – Test of English Language - Total 50 questions for 50 marks

It is compulsory for candidates to clear the written exam within a specified time limit of 150 minutes. For Security Officer Position, a total of 50 General Knowledge questions (specific to the banking industry) will be included in the written test instead of Quantitative aptitude questions. It is essential for candidates to clear the written exam to get considered for Group Discussion round. This round is organized to evaluate candidates skills related to leadership, communication, presentation, inter personal qualities and team work. A total of 50 marks are allotted for GD round, where in a cut off of 25% mark is compulsory for candidates to qualify. The next level is an online Psychometric test. Those who get through this round can attend the final selection process, personal interview.
